StrongMelbourne welcomes you to compete and spectate at the second round of the Victorian Grand Prix.
Once again there will be 4 points available for competitors towards their overall score towards winning the Grand Prix.

Round 2 – April 17th
Scoring
Each round will award 4 points for first place, down to 1 point for fourth place towards the total score of the Victorian Series. The winner will be the contestant with the highest total points at the end of the three rounds.
Note you do not need to compete in all competitions, it’s entirely possible to compete in just 1,2 or all 3.
Entry Fee
$50 for ASA members. (ASA membership for this year is $80 and can be paid with your entry fee)
$65 for non ASA members.

10:00 Marshaling for first event starts.
10:15/30 First event starts.
We will attempt to be finished by 4pm.
The weight Classes
Women – under 62.5kg, under 72.5kg , under 82.5kg , open
Men – under 80kg, under 90kg , under105kg, open
The four events will be
Yoke Carry
You will have 60 seconds to carry a yoke 15m , drop it and carry it 15m back as fast as possible.
You can use belts, knee sleeves and knee wraps.
There is no limits to drops.
Your score will either be the time completed the full 15/15m or the distance traveled. You must travel 7m to get a score.
An option will be given to choose a lighter weight or a heavier weight. Any score over 7m on the heavier weight will count more than any score on the lighter weight.

Max Straight Arm Hold
You will have to hold an implement at arms reach for the maximum time possible. The rules are simple, you will need to keep your elbows locked and maintain a horizontal position, once you drop below a certain height your time will end.
To prevent any cheating by holding the weight vertically or against your chest you will receive a warning the first time your arms bend or go above horizontal, after that you will have 2 seconds to correct your position before you are disqualified and your time will end.
The following weights are subject to testing and change, but should give a reasonable indication.

Maximum Axle Clean and Jerk.
You will have 4 attempts to find your maximum axle clean and jerk on a rising bar. The bar will start at 40kg for women and 60kg for men, the minimum rise will be 5kg, you can elect your lifts and do not have to lift consecutive bars, for example you can elect to lift 100kg, 120kg, 125kg and 135kg before you run out of attempts.
Belts can be used to rest the bar in continental clean. Straps can not be used, elbow sleeves and knee sleeves can be used.
Loading Race
You will have 75 seconds to load 3 objects, either kegs or sandbags. The objects will start 10m distance from a 4 foot bar. Your time finishes when the last object touches the ground on the opposite side of the loading bar. Belts and sleeves may be used. The weights indicated include the range of weights you will be required to load and may be kegs or sandbags. Your score will be the number of objects loaded and how quickly you loaded the last object.
