Edward Victor Cook - Static Monster
The Static Monsters is going to have a lot of impressive athletes attempt some huge weights, one of them is a wood chopping superstar, Edward Victor Cook. Ed has placed First in the Perth 2012 Royal Show in the underhand Championship, 3 times sunshine coast champion and 1 time Gold Coast Champion. As far as representing his state he has a long history:
- Three times representing Queensland in the under 21 category
- Two times representing Australia in the under 21 category
- Mens Queensland open team 6 times
Ed has also been competing in Strongman in Queensland for a couple of year, I first went up against him in the Queensland Strongman Series Round 2 of 2014. One of his most recent events was coming 6th in the heavyweight division of The Gold Coasts Strongest Man and Woman up against some of Australia’s (and Malaysia’s) top athletes.
Watch him in action below at the 2012 woodchopping championship in Perth, here you can see he is first to turn and first to complete the cut (Maroon Jersey).
Note that the man in the first position was the world champ at that time. Ed ties with him in this heat and later on goes to beat him in the final!
